Lewis Family Farms Wedding | Mary & Cody | Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer

June 21, 2017

It was wonderful to celebrate Mary & Cody’s wedding at Lewis Family Farms in Rochester last July.   I took their engagement photos at McConnells Mills a few months before their wedding.

 Evans City Wedding Photos

I met Mary and her bridesmaids in the morning at her father-in-law’s beautiful home in Evans City for getting ready photos.  The decor of the home has such a rustic feel and the natural light was to die for!  Mary’s bridesmaids all wore teal dresses of different styles from David’s Bridal.  Mary’s white lace dress with cap sleeves was simple but stunning.  It was perfect for her.

Did you know that you can use a crochet hook to do the buttons on a wedding dress much faster and more efficiently?  This is a great little tip!

My Associate Shooter for the day was the awesome Kristy Lumsden.  She spent the morning with the rowdy group of boys, getting some shots of them preparing (and playing Pokemon Go).

I love this shot she got of Cody standing in front of this cool looking shed.  It’s amazing how such a simple thing can make a fantastic backdrop.

First Look Photos in Evans City

Mary & Cody decided to do a first look to rid themselves of some of the nerves that they felt.  Mary was crying even before she came out the door.  It was such a sweet moment and you could tell how in love they are.

After their first look was complete, we headed over to the ceremony and reception site, Lewis Family Farms.  Their flower girls were so excited to get the show on the road.

Mary’s mom walked her down the aisle for their outdoor ceremony.  It was a sweet ceremony, officiated by Susan Talbott of Ceremonies From the Heart.  Mary & Cody and their moms all participated in a planting ceremony, where each person put soil into a potted flower to symbolize the families coming together.

Their wedding party was quite the crew…ready to have fun and get the party started!  We shared quite a few laughs while taking photos.  Look at that view of the valley from the farm!

These two were worried about what to do in front of the camera, but they really needed very little instruction.  They were in their own little world as Kristy and I snapped away.

The entire day was so well put together, thanks to Epic Event Planning.  They really did an amazing job of setting everything up!  There were lots of little details that completed the rustic romance of the day.

Mary & Cody’s first dance was “Grow Old With You” by Adam Sandler.  This is personally one of my favorite choices a couple can make…it’s such a unique choice and very fitting.

Even though it was hot in the barn, the DJ from SoundWaves Event Group got the party going once the fans were aimed at the dancefloor.

Thank you, Mary & Cody, for choosing me to to do your engagement and wedding photos!  It’s been great getting to know you and I’ve enjoyed the friendship that we’ve built!
